Why Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas Skipped the 2023 VMAs

Another MTV Video Music Awards, another tinge of disappointment when our fave celebs don’t make it. Despite the super-high star power around the night, Jonas Brothers fans might walk away a lil disappointed, because one thing about Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas is that they’re gonna show up and show *out* when it comes to events...and unfortunately, the happy couple didn’t make an appearance at this year's VMAs.

The Jonas Brothers earned a couple of nominations this year, but Nick ultimately didn’t make it. But hey, Nick and Priyanka are parents now after welcoming their daughter Malti via surrogate in January 2022, and coupled with the Jonas Brothers tour, they have a lot going on. (Btw, Nick and Priyanka, I’m totally free to babysit if you two ever need.)

Back in 2019, Nick attended the VMAs with his brothers. The band won the award for Best Pop Video, and cameras caught the *hilarious* moment where Kevin and Joe went in for a kiss from their wives to celebrate their victory, and the dateless Nick just stood there smiling by himself. The internet quickly made a meme out of the situation.

Even Priyanka herself joined in on the fun, posting the pic of an awkward Nick surrounded by his brothers smooching their wives, photoshopping herself into the photo to look like she’s hugging him.

“I'm always with you @nickjonas 😜😍,” she wrote in the caption.
